A Journey to the World's Oldest Temple: Gobekli Tepe

If so, you might want to visit Göbekli Tepe, a stunning archaeological site in southeastern Turkey that is considered the world's oldest temple. What is Göbekli Tepe? Göbekli Tepe (Turkish for "Potbelly Hill") is a complex of circular and rectangular stone structures that were built by prehistoric people between 9,600 and 8,200 BCE. These structures are composed of massive T-shaped pillars, some of which are up to 5.5 meters tall and weigh up to 10 tons. Many of the pillars are carved with images of animals, such as foxes, lions, scorpions, and vultures, as well as abstract symbols and human-like figures.
